National Cup 4th Round Draws

Greenwood U14s have been drawn at home to Leeds in the 4th round of the National Cup. If they win this tie they will enter the last 32(open draw) and will play at home to Merville United(Galway).

Greenwood U16s have been drawn at home to Carrigaline Utd in the 4th round of the National Cup. If they win this tie they will enter the last 32(open draw) and will play away to St Kevins Boys(Dublin). For full draw click here

U11 Greenwood 2 Avondale 1

Greenwood earned all three points at home to Avondale. After a scoreless first half Steve Sherlock opened the scoring with a superb free kick. Greenwood doubled their lead when Sherlock rounded the keeper and finished past the covering defender. Avondale scored a late consolation goal but Greenwood held on for an impressive win.

Greenwood "A" have been drawn away to Bohemians in the third round if they beat Village in the second round.
Greenwood "B" have been drawn away to Hillington or Ard na Laoi if they can win their first and second round matches.

Greenwood "A" have been drawn away to Grangevale or Knocknaheeny Celtic in the second round
Greenwood "B" have been drawn away to Lakewood Athlethic in the second round with the match to be played on 11th Jan.

Presidents Cup
Greenwood "B" have been drawn away to Wilton United "B" in the last 16 with the match to be played on 4th Jan, the winners of this tie will play at home to Los Zarcos or Ballinhassig in the quarter final.

FAI Under 17 Cup Draw

Greenwood's U17s have been drawn away to Glounthane Utd in the 4th round of the FAI U17 Cup. Games must be played on or before 25th January.

u12 - Greenwood 6 Mallow 1

Greenwood earned another 3 league points last Sunday in Coffeys Field thanks to a five-goal blast from Leonard Sexton. Aaron Kelleher opened the scoring and Leonard Sexton added two to make it 3-0 at half time. Greenwood and Mallow exchanged goals (Sexton making it a hattrick) before Greenwood missed a penalty. Greenwood went on to score another two before full time to bring Leonard Sexton's tally for the game to five. Others to shine for Greenwood included Stephen Cotter and Justin Morgan.

Congratulations to Leonard Sexton on being called up to the Cork Schoolboys League U12 Panel!

U17 Premier League - Greenwood 3 Cork City 1

Greenwood derailed Cork City's title aspirations when they defeated them 3-1 in their premier league clash at Coffey's Field last Sunday.

The home side were in front after 20 minutes when Martin McGreevey caught the city keeper off his line with a hooked effort from 35 yards out. Greenwood doubled their advantage when ace goalscorer and striker David O' Brien fired home from inside the box in the 55th minute.

City replied in the 60th minute when Sean Stokes slotted home to bring them back into it. But then, up popped Robbie Browner to drill home from a neat through ball by David O' brien - to make it 3-1 for Greenwood going into the final ten minutes to wrap up the points.
